Scalextric 1/32 Ford XY Falcon GT-HO 1972 Bathurst Slot Car

In the 1972 Bathurst race, Murray Carter qualified his Phase Three GT-HO Falcon in 22nd place with a time of 2:49.2s. The top four spots in qualifying were all Falcons, led by Allan Moffat. The race started in heavy rain, a challenge for the Falcons. Peter Brock, in a Torana, moved from 5th to 2nd place by lap 3. The rain persisted until lap 23, when the Falcons could finally perform better on the drying track. Carter's race was going well until he hit the fence at Murray's Corner, damaging his right front tyre. He limped to the pits, where a new tyre was fitted, but he received a one-minute penalty for a pit push-start. Despite the setbacks, Carter finished the race in 10th place, eight laps behind the winner, Peter Brock.
